Winter fuel bills start to hit households

2013-01-06 According to Telegraph and price comparison website USwitch, the energy quarterly bills could reach £530 after price rises. The news follows recent price rises, as energy bills have now gone up between 6% and 11% for all major suppliers. Energy bills are at a new all-time high of £1,352 a year: £251 or 23% higher than in January 2011. Winter fuel bills typically account for 40% of annual consumer heating costs, and with many starting to arrive on doormats the Telegraph is reporting that quarterly bills could reach as high as £530. The last of these price rises from E.ON will come into effect on 18 January 2013. What can you do?
